Health records are generally retained for a minimum period consistent with accepted healthcare record retention standards. In most circumstances, patient records are retained for at least seven (7) years from the date of the patient’s last consultation.
Where treatment is provided to a patient who is under the age of eighteen at the time of consultation, records may be retained until the patient reaches the age of twenty-five (25) in accordance with common healthcare record retention guidelines.
Records may be retained for longer periods where it is reasonably necessary for clinical care, legal proceedings, insurance matters, regulatory compliance, or other legitimate business purposes.
USE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND DIGITAL TOOLS
Midland Chiropractic Care may utilise digital technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI) and automated software tools, to assist with administrative functions and clinical documentation processes.
